What does Solutionflare do?
We're a software consultancy. We build custom iOS apps, full-stack web applications, and business automation and internal tools for companies, and we take on technical consulting where the deliverable is a decision rather than code. We also publish six iPhone apps of our own, which is how we stay current with App Store review, production support, and the platform frameworks we end up recommending to clients.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
Four shapes, mainly. A new product built from scratch and taken through release. A web platform that needs real infrastructure — payments, authentication, search, digital delivery. An automation or internal tool that removes a manual process. And consulting engagements: architecture review, build-versus-buy, platform selection, App Store and privacy compliance, or an assessment of a project that has stalled. More detail on each.
What technologies do you work in?
On mobile: Swift and SwiftUI for native iOS — including AlarmKit, HealthKit, WidgetKit, ActivityKit, Vision, SpriteKit, StoreKit, and Apple Foundation Models for on-device AI; Flutter and Dart for cross-platform; Capacitor with Ionic, Vue, and TypeScript where web and native have to coexist. On web: full-stack applications with payments, authentication, search, and digital delivery, plus static sites built for search and AI-search visibility. All of that is in production in our own shipped apps, not just on a capability list.
Why does a consultancy publish its own apps?
Because shipping is the part that goes wrong. Our six apps have been through App Store review, privacy-label declarations, in-app purchase and subscription infrastructure, on-device AI, Bluetooth Low Energy, HealthKit, and live production support with real users. That's what you're actually buying when you hire us — and unlike a case study, it's verifiable: every app is on the App Store and every claim we make about them is checkable in the shipped binary.
How does an engagement start?
With a free scoping conversation. You describe the problem, we tell you what we'd build, roughly how long it takes, and where the risks are — including when the honest answer is that you should buy something off the shelf rather than commission it. If it's a fit, we agree a scope and schedule in writing before any work starts. Email [email protected] or use the contact page.
Do the privacy rules in your own apps apply to client work?
No. Our apps carry no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics, but those are product decisions we made for ourselves, not conditions we impose on clients. Want analytics, ads, or a subscription model? We'll build it properly and tell you honestly what it costs your users. Want privacy-first architecture — on-device processing, no accounts, offline-capable? That we've shipped repeatedly and can build to the same standard.
What apps have you shipped?
Six iPhone apps: Pentire: Paint by Stickers, which cuts photos into sticker puzzles on-device; Chat Local: Offline Messaging, encrypted Bluetooth mesh texting with no internet or servers; Rouse: Alarms & Routine Timers, built natively on Apple's AlarmKit; Dogear: Read & Retain, a speed-reading trainer with on-device comprehension quizzes; CalcBoard: Multi Calculator, up to eight calculator panels on one screen; and Scroll Clash, a top-down arcade shooter. All free to download — full details here.
